G2 turn heads thanks to their fresh sound and original material, connecting to a younger audience as well as paying respect to the bluegrass tradition. They've released two critically acclaimed records (Where the all Grass Grows, 2007 and Untapped Routes, 2010).

Now they are back releasing their third album, Mind Over Matter on October 9, 2014. This time they flew to
Nashville and recorded with Nashville producer and engineer Erick Jaskowiak (6 time Grammy nominated,
previously worked with Della Mae, T Bone Burnett, Alison Krauss, Trisha Yearwood, Tim O'Brien and Darrell Scott).

Mind Over Matter is a fresh turn in G2's journey: they have introduced new sounds to their music and removed boundaries between genres which clearly invites new listeners not yet acquainted with bluegrass. They combine their Scandinavian roots with American roots and with a pop influence, their music is unique. It's G2.

The five band members met while jamming at a festival in Sweden in 2005. When they played together for the first time Christoffer Olsson, Jens Koch, Erik Igelström, Tobias Strömberg, and Jimmy Sunnebrandt realized almost instantly that they had something special. They clicked musically and personally and their collaboration quickly borne fruit. Only one year after the band was formed they were awarded #1 European Bluegrass Band in 2007. The award made it possible for G2 to visit the IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) convention in Nashville, TN. The guys made a big impression and it didn’t take long before they had themselves a booking agent, Jim Roe
(roeentertainment.com). G2 have released two critically acclaimed albums, “Where The Tall Grass Grows” in 2007 (Cosmos Records) and “Untapped Routes” (Cosmos Records) in 2010.

Since 2007, G2 has regularly toured the US and Europe. They have lived in Nashville for 6 months and toured the US and Canada.

They have appeared on Swedish national television on numerous occasions, they have opened for acts like Kris Kristofferson and supported people like Jim Lauderdale and they have played at the famous IBMA Awards Show at the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN.

Mind Over Matter features 8 original songs written within the band plus one by the award winning Swedish folk band Väsen (covered by Punch Brothers among others), one by Sarah Siskind and one by Nashville writers Jon Weisberger and Jeremy Garrett (Infamous Stringdusters).
